The 2024 Ram 1500 at Basswood Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Fort Payne, AL has the ability to tow an enormous amount of weight and it also allows you to haul plenty of payload. The engine options range from a 305-horsepower V6 to a 395-horsepower V8 and the newest Ram 1500 is available with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Cab options have been simplified to an extended cockpit and a larger four-crew cab.

What's new for 2024?

The Ram 1500 has introduced a 6.2-liter TRX supercharged V8 Final Edition model. It also has a Tradesman off-road model with an electronic rear-locking differential, a one-inch elevated ride height, skid plates, 33-inch tires and performance-tuned shocks. Unfortunately, the turbodiesel powertrain has been withdrawn but if the factory hears enough feedback from truck drivers from communities like Gadsden and Chattanooga, Ram might bring back the turbodiesel with all its muscular torque.

Engines and performance options

The newest edition of the Ram 1500 has a nice list of powertrain choices including a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 horsepower and a 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine that's teamed up with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. Both engines get the support of a 48-volt hybrid system but the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 is also available for Albertville and Scottsboro buyers in a more pure format without the electric assistance.

Every Ram 1500 model has a comfortable ride with the help of a rear suspension that utilizes standard coil spring or available air springs that are superior to the conventional leaf-spring arrangement that's available on domestic competitors. Ram 1500 models equipped with air suspension have ride height that’s adjustable and that helps enhance off-road performance and fuel efficiency.
